"Tango sin Zapatos" is a space for learning and exploring movement that, through the tools of tango, improvisation, contemporary dance, and physical expression, aims to broaden the horizons of movement— individually, as a couple, and in a group —.
The project stems from a reflection on how tango can be learned and recreated outside its original context, based on the idea that anyone can dance. Thus, through workshops and practice sessions
It promotes an accessible and inclusive environment, in which the codes of tango are understood as tools for communication rather than rigid structures.
By recognizing its roots in the Río de la Plata region—the result of a cultural blend of different peoples and traditions—the project values the study of those origins while also opening a space for dialogue with other contemporary languages and contexts.
Drawing on elements such as walking, the embrace, circularity, and musicality, participants develop body awareness, listening skills, trust, expressiveness, and improvisation in a collaborative, egalitarian environment.
"Tango sin Zapatos" thus offers a space where different bodies and experiences coexist, exploring tango as a collective, relational, and constantly evolving practice.
